The Shabbah
Cool minor chord version of an old-time favorite, basically the harmony I've always sang to the original. But I'm just an in-the-shower singer, and these guys are awesome.

Only The Dead South can take a song, that was played to death over and over again, and make something so unique and interesting. I love this.

Such a cool cover. Unexpected choice of song, but The Dead South make it work really well. It's much better than any other previous versions I've ever heard actually.
The Dead South is:
Nathaniel Hilts - Guitar/Vocals
Scott Pringle - Mandolin/Vocals
Danny Kenyon - Cello/Vocals
Colton Crawford - Banjo/Vocals
The Dead South’s “You Are My Sunshine” out now, ahead of Easy Listening for Jerks, Pt. 1 & 2 on March 4, 2022.
12 Golden Bluegrass Greats. Carter Family meets Addams Family in Easy Listening for Jerks, two new covers EPs by gold-certified prairie pickers The Dead South.
Rich with quality finger picking and replete with harmonies, Easy Listening for Jerks offers many new moods of songs we think we know so well. The EPs offer a surprising and compelling mix of gravity and levity. From Earl Scruggs to Serj Tankian, the two parts of Easy Listening for Jerks find surprising common ground between traditional bluegrass and hard rock.

This might be the band that displaces Metallica as my favorite heavy metal band! It's heavy and has social commentary, which are my two favorite things in music. flannel_bear

This might be my favourite of Heilung. They've improved a bit on their later releases but their debut is still much meaner, and darker. Maria's amazing voice obviously steals the show but I also quite like Kai's too, especially on the live performance. In fact I'd say get LIFA over this IMO.
The spoken word bits are really cool to hear proto-germanic in use but for relistening purposes they are going to be a bit obtrusive. Nevertheless the proper music here is on continual repeat for me. Rabbit
